How do I become a member? What does the application process involve?

Applications are submitted through the five-step online form. You provide contact information, organization details, select a membership tier and provide payment information (no real charge in demo). The final step is identity and organization verification (KYC/KYB). Our compliance team reviews the application and typically completes verification within 48 business hours. Incomplete or unverifiable applications are declined — exclusivity is the foundation of the Club.

How does identity verification work? What documents are required?

IEC conducts a two-layer verification: individual KYC (government-issued ID, facial liveness check via a licensed provider) and organizational KYB (company registration, beneficial ownership confirmation, sanctions screening). For institutional members, an authorized signatory verification is also required. All verification data is processed in compliance with applicable law and deleted within 90 days of review completion. We use no third-party data brokers for ongoing profiling.

What are the annual membership fees, and what is the joining fee?

IEC offers four tiers: Associate, Corporate, Enterprise and Founding. Annual fees are benchmarked against elite private clubs and top-tier industry associations. Some tiers carry a one-time joining fee to maintain selectivity. All prices are displayed in USD and may be settled in equivalent local currency where supported. Full pricing is available on the Membership page. Prices are fixed annually and are not subject to mid-year changes for existing members.

Where is my data stored? Does IEC comply with Russian 152-FZ and GDPR?

Yes. IEC maintains dual data residency: personal data of Russian-resident members is stored on servers located in the Russian Federation in compliance with Federal Law No. 152-FZ. Data of EU/EEA and international members is processed under GDPR with standard contractual clauses (SCCs) for cross-border transfers. The platform architecture physically separates these data stores. You can request a data subject access report or deletion via the Privacy settings in your dashboard at any time.

How does AI matchmaking work? Is it a recommendation algorithm or something else?

AI matchmaking uses a compatibility model that scores potential introductions across five dimensions: strategic goal alignment, sector overlap, complementarity (buyer/seller, capital/project), geography and declared interaction preferences. The model does not use behavioural tracking or purchase history. Scores are recomputed weekly as profiles are updated. Your introductions quota (varies by tier) controls how many ranked recommendations you can convert into formal introductions per year. Unused quota does not roll over.

What commission does the marketplace charge on transactions?

Listing on the marketplace is included in all membership tiers at no additional cost. IEC charges a platform facilitation fee (a 'take rate') on transactions closed through the marketplace — a percentage of the disclosed deal amount, set out in the category fee schedule, invoiced on closure and payable jointly and severally by the parties, as set out in the Marketplace Terms you accept on joining. The exact fee is shown in the deal room before you close. Premium Listing placements (sponsored visibility) and deal-room add-ons (structured due-diligence bundles) carry separate fees published in the marketplace rate card. IEC is not a counterparty to any transaction and does not hold client funds.

Are events included in membership? How do I register?

Events are open to all verified members, with format-dependent registration. Some events (flagship annual summits) have a limited physical capacity and allocation is managed by the secretariat based on seniority and strategic fit. Online roundtables and working-group sessions are generally open to all members at the relevant tier. Event registration is handled through the Events section of the platform. Guests of members may attend select sessions when nominated by a full member in advance.

In which languages does the platform operate?

The IEC platform is fully available in English, Russian, Chinese (Simplified), Arabic and Spanish. The user interface, legal documents and support are provided in all five languages. Market intelligence reports are primarily authored in English and Russian, with executive summaries translated into the other supported languages. Members may configure their language preference in account settings and can switch at any time.
